How The Farm Started
I was inspired by a Canadian named Curtis Stone who is an urban farmer in Kelowna, BC. He uses his property to grow vegetables, salad mixes, and microgreens. Curtis motivated me to become an urban farmer, so I decided to grow microgreens.
In 2018, my dreams came to fruition. I started growing microgreens on my property in Wakefield, QC, selling to local restaurants.
Fast forward to 2025, I have relocated to New Glasgow, Nova Scotia which is a new chapter in my microgreen business.
The Benefits of Microgreens
Due to their high antioxidants content, microgreens are considered a functional food, a food that promotes health or prevents disease.
Consuming plant-based foods of all kinds has been linked to a reduced risk of many health conditions, such as obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and high blood pressure. Plant-based foods also support a healthy complexion, increased energy, lower weight, and longer life expectancy.
